12.5 Weeks- MFM Gender Guess Ultrasound

Dear Bundles of Joy,

So today we were able to get another ultrasound and see all of you! Everything is looking good: lengths, heartbeats, nuchal bone space, limbs, etc. We are so excited. Your dad kept saying he loves you guys already and loves seeing you on the screen. We are both in awe... is this real life?!

During the ultrasound, the tech guessed that Baby A is a girl and that Baby B is a boy. Baby C wasn't cooperating... hmm, is this foreshadowing the future??? Will you be the "difficult" one. :) Baby B, you were on your hands and knees at one point... so it was hard to get the measurements correct. The tech had me drink some apple juice and see if it got you to move around and lay more on your back. It finally worked and we were able to get the correct measurement.

After the ultrasound, we were able to meet with Dr. Elliott. He is amazing. He is older but you can tell he is really knowledgeable. He gave us the run through of selective reduction, risks with carrying multiples, and general procedures (i.e. c-section). He made sure we understood everything he was talking about and kept asking if we had any questions. He gave us a lot of statistics with multiples and surprisingly, they were a lot better than we thought. He is hoping and having us aim to get to 30-33 weeks +. His average time for triplets is 33 weeks, whereas other doctors are only at around 27 weeks. So, whatever his methods, they are working and we are willing to do anything he advises us to do. I asked if he does cerclages if needed and he seemed impressed with the question. He said that he most definitely does and they usually produce great results if you are caught early enough.

Anyway... we are so excited to feel so confident in our pregnancy already. He said that things look good and that we will meet again in 4 weeks... so I'll be 16.5 weeks at that point. They said they would most likely be able to tell what the genders are at that point!!! Yipee!

We will be having a gender reveal party where we will surprise our family that there are actually 3 of you coming! They are already so excited... this will be crazy! We are so excited to have everyone know and not have to filter what we say around people. YAY! Here's to a healthy and safe pregnancy.

Ultrasound Dream

Dear Bundles of Joy,

Last night I had another dream about you guys! I was at the doctor's office getting an ultrasound. The doctor said that 2 were identical and that one was fraternal. The identical ones were boys and the fraternal one was a girl. Once again, two boys and a girl!

Can't wait to find out the truth!

Mom

Week 11- Meeting my MFM

Dear Bundles of Joy,

Today we were able to visit the maternal-fetal medicine specialist's office. He was out of town, but we were able to see the ultrasound tech to check up on you guys.  I wasThe MFM will be working with my OB-GYN to monitor you guys and make sure you are all as healthy and safe as you can be. Dad was able to come and see you guys. He was so flabbergasted. He was in awe of how cute you guys already are. I didn't expect him to be so in love already. I know I am too!

Baby C was sooo active and twisting and moving all over the place. The tech said that you might give me a run for my money after birth! Ha.

All of you guys were measuring right on target! Heart rates were between 168-178. Perfect.

As far as I go, I have had low-key nausea, but nothing to really hold me back. I am loving that I am on summer break and can take it easy right now though. I am more tired than anything. Oh, and the headaches! I had a hard time falling asleep last night because I had one that was just pounding! Oh well. Just exhausted! But, I take these as good signs that you guys are all growing and getting healthier.

Here are some pics of you guys from this appointment. Cute as can be!
